Ly Cuisine's signature line of authentic and fresh Thai dishes include Tom Kha, a light, but slightly creamy, chicken broth and coconut milk mixture sparkles with flavors of galangal (a hot-tart root similar to ginger) and lime juice with diners choice of meats or seafood.

Another not to missed appetizer is a Thai food classic, Satay, made with tender, still-moist chicken pieces on wooden skewers, served with a not-too-thick sweet peanut sauce to compliment the grilled flavor of the meat. And a well known favorite appetizer is Ly Cuisine’s signature deep fried, Spring Roll, made with ground pork, eggs, black mushroom, carrots, green onions, bean sprouts, and glass noodles, served with a tangy and sweet sauce, topped with ground peanuts.

For those with taste buds familiar to Thai spices, there is Som Tum, which combines fresh shredded papaya with shrimp sauce, chili pepper, tomato and ground peanuts for a crunchy, excellent salad course. In addition, diners can choose from our curry dishes served with steamed Jasmine rice. Such a dish is Panang, a mild yellow curry sauce, cooked with coconut milk, fresh vegetables, and choice of meats or seafood. Another famous dish to satisfy diners appetite is Pad Thai, which stir fries together rice noodles, bean sprouts, ground peanuts, eggs, green onions with choice of meats or seafood. And for the adventurous diners, crispy duck in Ly Cuisine’s own special sauce and cooked till it is tender and flavorful, served with steamed sticky Jasmine rice.

For the seafood fans, broiled salmon topped with spicy herbs (lemon grass, mint, basil leaf, coarse ground white peppercorn, shredded ginger, green onions, and cilantro) and wrapped in banana leaf for optimum flavor and taste served with choice of regular steamed or sticky Jasmine rice.

Meet the Owners

Zoua and Nhia Ly are refugees from Laos. Both came to the United States when they were five years old. Through church sponsorship, Zoua and Nhia’s family were able to come to America. The First Lutheran Church of Albemarle sponsored Nhia’s family. Zoua has been a resident of Stanly County for the last 18 years and Nhia for the past 34 years.

Both Zoua and Nhia come from a family of entrepreneurs. Zoua’s family owns and operates a merchandising business in Fresno, California. Nhia’s family owns and operates a specialty grocery store in Albemarle, North Carolina. Both businesses continue to grow steady every year.

Zoua began her cooking lessons at the age of five. By the time she was six, she was able to prepare whole dinners for her family. Throughout her childhood and teenage years her techniques in preparing, cooking, and storing food steadily excelled. Then in 1990, she was hired to work as a customer service representative for Wah’s Kitchen, a very popular Chinese take out restaurant in Fresno, California. From there on, Zoua has continued to work in the restaurant industry.

Nhia has experience in many different career fields. Nhia entered service with the United States Army after graduating from North Carolina State with an Industrial Engineering degree. His four years in the military gave him the opportunities to hold management and supervisory positions.
